       The Deanship of Quality and Development is the newest deanship at the University of Jeddah. It was established on October 3, 2023, by merging three central and vital entities within the university: the Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Administration, the Curriculum and Academic Programs Administration, and the Institutional Transformation Office. The deanship is responsible for all tasks and activities related to both administrative and academic quality assurance, the creation and development of academic programs, and strategic planning processes.

   These tasks are structured into three agencies, in addition to the Institutional Transformation Office as an independent entity. The deanship contributes to improving the performance of the university's sectors and entities, building stakeholder trust, enhancing competitiveness, and ensuring that leadership and staff are committed to practicing quality and continuous improvement in all aspects of academic and administrative work. It also plays a role in managing the university's institutional transformation process and achieving strategic and national goals.

    The aim of these efforts is to enable the university to compete with similar educational institutions and to meet the standards for institutional and programmatic accreditation, as well as comprehensive administrative quality accreditation requirments.

Agency Tasks
  • Working on the implementation of regulations and executive rules at the university, achieving the goals of the vision and mission of the University of Jeddah, and meeting the targets of its programs while supervising their execution.
  • Monitoring the extent of excellence in performance measurement operations; enhancing learning outcomes, institutional work excellence, and beneficiary satisfaction.
  • Supervising the adherence to the timeline for institutional and program accreditations, ensuring the quality of learning outcomes, evaluating and developing programs and curricula, and aligning them with the labor market.
  • Following up on the implementation of institutional excellence tasks and working to improve the university's ranking in global classifications, in coordination with relevant parties.
  • Representing the university, participating, and maintaining continuous communication with international accreditation and ranking bodies, promoting the university and its achievements, and improving and enhancing the public image of the University of Jeddah.
  • Monitoring the implementation and development of quality assurance procedures, mechanisms, and tools, as well as institutional accreditations; including auditting, measurement, academic evaluation, and related performance indicators.
  • Follow-up on the training, qualification, and development of university staff, and the preparation of appropriate plans for educational programs on methodologies, systems, practices, and methods of quality assurance, as well as the level of satisfaction achieved among stakeholders and accreditations, including performance indicators and measurement, evaluation, development, performance improvement, and capacity building; to achieve the goals of quality assurance.
  • Following up on policy proposals and procedures to determine the types of tests and assessment methods, and monitoring their effectiveness in measuring student achievement; to achieve outcomes for theoretical, practical, and skill-based learning for courses and program learning outcomes.
  • Monitoring the scientific departments; when preparing programs and study plans in new and future specializations, including interdisciplinary specializations; using references and global benchmarking.
  • Following the university's achievements in providing modern, high-quality programs and curricula that align with the skills of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and meet the needs and requirements of national priorities, as well as the directives and needs of the labor market.
